A new school year – 2023/24
On 1st September, Gimnazija Vič joined other schools across Slovenia in welcoming our students back to the classroom after the summer break.
Our older students were able to take some time with their form teachers and to catch up with their classmates. These sessions were set aside before the regular timetable began to make sure that everyone was ready with their new schedules and subject choices for the year ahead.
A range of different activities were organised to welcome our new students, to help them make friends within their new class groups, and to get them used to the systems and structures of our typical school days.
One of the most important elements of this “Getting to know each other” project is the camping expedition which allows our new students to go out into the Slovenian countryside as part of their new class. While away at camp, they take part in team-building exercises, different sports and games, and various creative challenges. These have all been planned by teachers from different departments in the school to build strong connections and positive bonds within the new groups. The overall aim is to help them have the best possible experience over their four years at Gimnazija Vič by starting off in such a positive way.
Whether new to us this year, or already an established member of our school community, we would like to wish all our students the very best for the year ahead.
