Book Blind Dates 2026

In the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, there was a special reading activity arranged in the Gimnazija Vič library.

Monika Zonta, our school librarian, prepared a number of book “blind dates” for which students and teachers were able to choose a book title from a lucky dip basket. All of the novels chosen to be part of the collection had been specially selected to have a link to this romantic holiday, with some having an obvious connection while others were a bit more obscure or unexpected.

This way of making the choice meant that people were able to read something that might be a different genre than they are used to or from a writer they had not heard about before.

With plenty of people joining in, this was a wonderful way to help us get back into the reading habit and to make sure that we had something to enjoy over the days of half-term holiday ahead of us.
