Eco-garden project – First harvest

Gimnazija Vič has transformed a patch of our school land into an eco-garden for the school. This allows students to learn more about the science of life within a garden setting through practical education while also allowing us to grow fruit and vegetables to be enjoyed at our school.

The start of October marked a milestone in this project as we had our first grape harvest. Students had worked on planting and tending to the vines over the past year and, once the grapes were ripe, they were picked and collected to be shared among our student community.

Whether as a sweet treat after lunch or as a snack, the grapes were enjoyed through the afternoon with everyone being impressed on the quality and flavour of what had been grown.

This has been a valuable part of the project as students have seen the result of their hard work. We very much look forward to seeing how the eco-garden project develops in the time ahead.
