IATEFL English Competition 2022
Through the school year, students in our 3rd Year classes have taken part in a range of different exams as part of the competition for the IATEFL organisation in Slovenia. These start at a school level before moving on to cover the different regions across Slovenia. Then the students who have proved themselves to be in the top group for the country take part at a national level.
In these tests, students have to demonstrate a very high standard of ability when it comes to the English language as well as showing their skills in terms of cultural knowledge and writing skills.
We are very happy to be able to announce that a number of our students excelled the early stages of this year’s competition and ended up being part of the group at a national level.
Once the final marks were counted, some of our students proved themselves to be among the very best in Slovenia.
Congratulations go to Rok Sušnik and Nadja Šarić who received gold awards. Special commendation must go to Rok whose work through the competition allowed him to be announced as first place in Slovenia. We also congratulate Narcis Pekić who was awarded a silver level prize and Anastasija Jelić and Andraž Jug who got bronze awards.
Our thanks must also go to the teachers and mentors in our school’s English department who worked with these students through the year to prepare them so well for the different tasks across the competition.
