Ljubljana Marathon 2026

Over the third weekend of October, the official Ljubljana Marathon took place. This year was a special occasion as it marked the 30th anniversary of this event in the city's history.

Runners came from all over the world to take part in the main race and the other competitions linked to the event. We are happy to say that the Gimnazija Vič community was represented as well.

53 of our students took part in the Ljubljana Marathon School Run in which competitors race over a distance of around 3km. Congratulations to those who completed the course and to the runners who achieved some of the top results in the competition.

In addition, five members of school staff took part in the set of races. With some doing the half-marathon and others doing the 10km run, we were all very impressed by their athletic ability.

We would like to congratulate everyone who took part in this great sporting experience. In addition, we give our thanks to the students who volunteered to help with the organisation of the event and to those who came out to the roadsides to cheer with great enthusiasm for their school representatives.
