In the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, there was a special reading activity arranged in the Gimnazija Vič library.

On 29^th January, Gimnazija Vič welcomed about a hundred primary school pupils for a set of special workshops after the normal school day. This was designed to give these young people more information about what school life would be like if they choose to join us as they move up to secondary-level education in September.

Towards the end of January, we were delighted to welcome a small delegation from Prva privatna gimnazija Varaždin, Croatia.

On 21^st January, an enthusiastic audience gathered to enjoy the premiere of this year’s Musicals@Vič show.

On Monday, 12^th January, thirteen students and two teachers from Gimnazija Vič started our journey to Paris by train.

Every year, on 26^th December, Slovenia marks the proclamation of its independence referendum with a day of national holiday.

At the beginning of December, a special event was arranged that allowed everyone involved in the production of the new Gimnazija Vič school calendar to meet up and see the finished product.

On the evening of 9^th December, our music department under the mentorship of Marija Mihevc, treated us to their annual concert that never fails to get us into the festive spirit.

This school year has allowed for a new Erasmus+ project at Gimnazija Vič that has the focus on allowing us to deal with issues of prejudices and stereotypes.

Since last year, students and teachers from Gimnazija Vič were excited about the possibility of an excursion to North America. The October holidays gave us the perfect opportunity and, from the beginning of the school year, plans were made to make this a perfect trip.

During the third week of October, our school played host to a delegation from our Erasmus+ partner school in Stockholm, Blackebergs gymnasium.

Gimnazija Vič has transformed a patch of our school land into an eco-garden for the school. This allows students to learn more about the science of life within a garden setting through practical education while also allowing us to grow fruit and vegetables to be enjoyed at our school.

On 17^th and 18^th of October 2025, we hosted our annual VičMUN conference. This is our school’s Model United Nations event and we are always delighted to host students from around Slovenia and our neighbouring nations.

During the third week of September 2025, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of teachers and students from our Erasmus+ partner school, Gymnasium Martinum Emsdetten in Germany.

On 1^st September 2025, we opened the doors of our school to welcome students in to begin our new school year. Teachers and other members of staff had been working hard behind the scenes for weeks before to make sure that everything was ready from the very beginning to ensure this will be another successful year for all our students.
